Since 1986, Hands Together has sought to help people living in the poorest areas of Haiti and with the greatest needs. We have responded to these needs through a variety of assistance projects - primarily projects that focus on education, medical and health, emergency relief, and community development.

Today, our assistance projects to the poor in Haiti can be classified, in priority order, as follows:

1. A Hands Together run project with total operations and responsibility of the all involved under the direction of Hands Together;
2. A collaborative effort between Hands Together and another program or organization;
3. A direct stringless gift to help another project.

There is no question that we use a large part of our yearly budget for materials, supplies and goods that could have been donated to Hands Together. We hope that by providing this NEEDS LIST we will receive much needed supplies, medicines, and other materials so that we can use our precious funding dollars for salaries, capital improvements, emergency relief, training, and development projects.

Nutritional & Feeding Needs

Children & adults cannot learn if they are undernourished. The elderly are neglected and need food. Ideally, Hands Together must prepare over 4,500 meals daily to help all those participating in our supported education programs. Each month, we run "dry-food" distribution session giving out food for over 220,000 meals.

Clinic & Hospital Needs

Hands Together runs a medical clinic in the slums of Port-au-Prince that serves over 18,000 people. We also support hospitals and 5 other medical clinics run by several diocesan Caritas groups and religious orders.
